🎵 2. Lyrics (Standard English Version)

Title: “The Amiodarone Lung”

(Verse 1)
I’m 75, my heart is sick,
Cardiomyopathy and A-Fib’s kick.
So they put me on the drug, you see,
Amiodarone, for 6 months, for me.
But now I’m short of breath (dyspnea), with a low-grade heat (fever).

(Chorus)
Oh, Amiodarone! Amiodarone!
You’re toxic to the lung, it’s known!
It’s drug-induced, this awful plight,
It looks like Organizing Pneumonia’s light!
A dangerous, hazy, interstitial zone.

(Verse 2)
The CT shows the RUL is bad,
An opacity… that’s what I had.
Plus GGO and Crazy Paving too!
It’s multicentric, a hazy view.
(But there’s no heart failure to confess!)

(Bridge)
The proof is what the doctors do,
They stopped the Amiodarone, and gave steroids too!
And 3 months later, I improved, you see,
Confirming Amiodarone Toxicity!

(Chorus)
Oh, Amiodarone! Amiodarone!
You’re toxic to the lung, it’s known!
It’s drug-induced, this awful plight,
It looks like Organizing Pneumonia’s light!
A dangerous, hazy, interstitial zone.

✒️ 2. The Poems

The Rhythm’s Cost

To steady the heart the drug was prescribed.
But toxicity in the lungs was soon imbibed.
Ground glass and shadows obscure the breath.
Until steroids and cessation prevent the death.

Title: “The Drug’s Shadow”
For the heart’s wild, A-Fib beat,
A drug was given, a toxic feat.
Six months of Amiodarone’s grace,
Left a new shadow on this place.
A low-grade fever, a loss of breath,
The CT showed a hazy, patchy death.
GGO, multicentric, and the vain
“Crazy Paving” pattern, like a milky rain.
(An RUL opacity, a worrying sign),
Was it the heart? The scan said “no.”
Was it the drug? It seemed just so.
(A mimic of Organizing Pneumonia’s light).
And so they stopped the drug, to win the fight.
With steroids, the shadows start to fade,
A drug toxicity, confirmed and paid.
