🎵 2. Lyrics (Standard English Version)
(Verse 1)
I’m 75, my heart is sick,
Cardiomyopathy and A-Fib’s kick.
So they put me on the drug, you see,
Amiodarone, for 6 months, for me.
But now I’m short of breath (dyspnea), with a low-grade heat (fever).
(Chorus)
Oh, Amiodarone! Amiodarone!
You’re toxic to the lung, it’s known!
It’s drug-induced, this awful plight,
It looks like Organizing Pneumonia’s light!
A dangerous, hazy, interstitial zone.
(Verse 2)
The CT shows the RUL is bad,
An opacity… that’s what I had.
Plus GGO and Crazy Paving too!
It’s multicentric, a hazy view.
(But there’s no heart failure to confess!)
(Bridge)
The proof is what the doctors do,
They stopped the Amiodarone, and gave steroids too!
And 3 months later, I improved, you see,
Confirming Amiodarone Toxicity!
(Chorus)
Oh, Amiodarone! Amiodarone!
You’re toxic to the lung, it’s known!
It’s drug-induced, this awful plight,
It looks like Organizing Pneumonia’s light!
A dangerous, hazy, interstitial zone.
✒️ 2. The Poems
The Rhythm’s Cost
To steady the heart the drug was prescribed.
But toxicity in the lungs was soon imbibed.
Ground glass and shadows obscure the breath.
Until steroids and cessation prevent the death.
