The male and female Canadian geese are outwardly only different by size. The male is about 10% larger than the female. I think in this instance the male, on seeing me approach, wanted to to tell his spouse to leave because he thought they were in danger. In other words he was protecting her, and trying to coax her to leave. He saw me as a threat- she did not.
